Re: anybody looking for parts

Bad valve stem seals, causing Engine to smoke + EGR gases will block ports!
Gases will backup and contaminate the MAF sensor too.

Re: anybody looking for parts

I found three that I saved, and I'll be darned if all of the flex tubes were cracked. I have a few more to look at tomorrow. I didn't check that 95 engine yet. It rained all day and I didn't want to to take the tarp off it. It's still raining right now.

Re: anybody looking for parts

jyd, the yards by me with most of the goodies would be cts in taylor, a place right next to them, a couple places out in ypsilanti, and another spot in detroit (can't remember the names off hand, got the buis. cards tho ) cts has the amazing pile-o-motors lol. sorry to here about buiseness being bad, hope something picks up over there in your neck of the woods. you must be some where back in a holler by the sound of things . not sure how the yards in tn are right now, but i know around morristown theres quite a few big ones, they go on for acres and acres it seems like. how was your labor day weekend?

Re: anybody looking for parts

Yep it's a good thing that we have mcgiver to let us know what egr valves are for, and how they and thier components can get cloged. I'm geting old and starting to forget.

Jason cts is not familliar to me. I used to deal with a place down there called D&R. I heard they went to a copart facility, which is what I was hooked up with down here in walton, lexington, lauranceburg, and huricane
I couldn't renew my membership this year due to the decline in sales.
No holler here, we are right on the top of a mountain.

Re: anybody looking for parts

I blocked my EGR port years ago, because of bad valve stem seals blocking ports and contaminating MAF sensor. ''PO401 Insufficient flow to EGR''.

LS would charge $400 for a new valve & you still would have the problem.

Why are you so worried about going green now?

If you removed the throttle body and cleaned EGR passage(10-min fix),the EGR valve and tube wouldn't of gone bad.

Also you shouldn't buy a used 10year old parts other than metal, unless flipping a car.

I would rather have a 12K Mile/1yr warranty for insurance on a remanufactured engine or transmission..
