Re: First Car Purchase, Need help choosing car

Shpuker, I'm going to do the forum a favor and tell you to go stuff it. Firstly your grammar and spelling are as bad or worse than anybody else's here. You don't even own a car! Why are you on here attacking people and acting like you own the place? It's a forum and people are entitled to their opinions without judgement - that's what its here for.

And "pationatly" - that would be 'passionately'.

GM is not part of Cadillac most of the way, there is GM and there is Cadillac.Cadillac does everything their way and GM cannot do anything about it.If there is anything major to work on a Cadillac,to the dealer including inside the 4.6 Northstar which is very horrible to work.My father was in one of them, the version in the Oldsmobile aurora and said no more.It was horrible to work on.

Re: First Car Purchase, Need help choosing car

Threads in many forums can be very informative, but also very boring with the run of the mill blah blah, this thread I have enjoyed with comments from ,,, wafrederick,,, shpuker,,, akboss...lol,,, keep it up.

TO,,, elementis, whom started this thread, here is an excerpt from your post
" You could call me the type of guy that is pretty much car illiterate, the one that usually needs help even with the smallest of car problems "

Yes you are very illiterate, ignorant, and will go through life as such. You post a question and don't have the courtesy or respect to reply to people having taken the time answer your questions.

Re: First Car Purchase, Need help choosing car

I've been doing a lot of research on the Toyota Avalon lately, as a car to give me some 'peace and quiet' on my drive home. Apparently they are a pretty sweet ride, mostly because they depreciate like a rock, which is odd for a Toyota product. So first off you're getting Toyota reliability - which is not bulletproof but historically they are a pretty safe bet. Secondly it's a boat, enough room to stretch out and the V6 won't be wound-up at 4000 RPM on the highway. And lastly, it's actually pretty efficient, so you won't break the bank on filling the tank. I'm not sure if you'll find one for $2K, but they started making this land yacht back in 1995, but I'd stay away from 1st year of production, so look at 1996+. It's basically a Lexus for less. Just don't expect a handler...this thing will corner so soft you'll think she's made of jelly underneath, but the plus side is you can drive at 60 mph along a road made of railroad tracks and not feel a thing.

Re: First Car Purchase, Need help choosing car

I bought a olds 88 cutless 3 years ago and its still running fine. over 300000 miles does use a drop of oil, purchased from private party. The 3800 series engine is a great v6 good gas milage smoth ride. Try to fine a nice 93 model 88.
