Re: Aoshima R34 Z-tuned a little

You're making some great progress. Chassis looks very clean as is but I'll wait to see how it ends up with the wash. I like the middle exhaust option...looks the most realistic to me and has nicer proportions. Are those two wrinkles on the front of the hood? I hope the clear coats manage to hide them if so because they're quite distracting. Good thing your remaining wheels are still ok. They look good especially on that gorgeous white body. Keep it up

Re: Aoshima R34 Z-tuned a little

Last update before i post it in the finished section.

I used a wing from the fujimi muffler/wing set. Its covered in sms carbon.

A couple pics of the body, its almost done. Used studio 27 carbon on the body parts. I had some problems with it, i think because it was old. Need to get rid of some of my old decals!! Mesh used inside the front bumper. One question i have to you guys. The decal film turned white on the hood from the nismo decal (red/black), If i clear the hood again, will that get rid of the decal film?

And just a couple mock up pics with wheels.

No, what i mean is the decals on the hood (stripes) have the decal film turning white. You can see it in the pic. If i clear coat the hood, will it get rid of that. Im not trying to take it off.

well.... maybe it's just bad contact? did you use any decals solution? I don't think that clear coat will solve the problem... cause it will be above the stripes, not under (cause when you make the decal wet with water it flows under decal and it looks nice,,, then the water dissapears, and the look is usually worse.... i think the same will be with clear, which will not even get under decal)... Maybe microsol can fix it...

Theres no air underneath the decal though. Its just the film that stands out. Kinda like putting a decal on a flat paint.

Re: Aoshima R34 Z-tuned a little

any chance of very careful trimming and using some solvent to tease off the clear parts?

Its already dry, and don't want to put cuts in the clear coat. What i did was layed down more microsol and it went right underneath it making the decal clear again. It worked.
