Where I have heard of the block cracking on these 5.0's is with NOS, drag racing, and or other high hp configurations. Up to 400 hp and no excessive shock loads, they seem fine. A stud girdle seems to be a common addition at 400+ hp or drag racing. I think mine is also the Probe version. Given that you are racing endurance, you probably don't give it excessive clutch engagement shock and the power feed is more gradual than drag racing. I think it would certainly hang together to 5600-5800 for a season, especially if you get a little help with shot peening. Let us know what you do with that.
