Re: 98 accord : steering wheel gets stuck
you can rent the obd code reader from autozone still. this just means you have to check it yourself its not hard the only thing is it costs $100 to rent and then theres a $9 charge that they keep the $100 is refunded when you return it i often just do it in their parking lot.

Re: 98 accord : steering wheel gets stuck
I have a V4, not V6. Thanks for the inputs still.
I will try to rent the code reader as suggested. |

Re: 98 accord : steering wheel gets stuck
Bringing this old thread back to life
![]() Just to recap, the CEL in my 98 accord had come on about 9-10 months ago. I could not get the code read at that time, but was told by a friend to take out and then place back a 7.5 A fuse, in order to turn the check engine light off, which I did. I do keep getting the CEL back after every 3-4 months still. Today, I had the code read at an Autozone (in Texas, not in CA), and it was P1164, meaning a faulty O2 sensor. I will try to have it replaced. Until I do that, would it have an impact only the mileage I get, or are there any other potential drawbacks as well ? Also, I need to get the car registered in TX, and it seems the registration process in TX requires a car inspection as well, which includes an emissions test. Am I likely to fail the test if I do not replace the O2 sensor ? Appreciate all the help! Thanks. |
