I'm no expert, but in my opinion it's a problem with exposure to the elements. The rear disk work perfect for a while them continue to fail. I found no back plate but a few rusted pieces! I think I'm going to try and make a better back plate and spray everything with high temp paint.

I filed these down so that they wobble slightly,,,,then when grease is applied the grease stays there ..this has worked much better... a forum member followed my suggestion, and his brake problems there stopped... the backing plate should be coated with rustfree a solvent based brush on undercoating...these backing plates I have cut in half and with out axle removal replaced...this was done several years ago and with this coating still are perfect.. |
