Re: WIP Testarossa's Meeting (Ferrari Testarossa '84, 512TR and Mythos)

Hello Again…
In web search I found this and I want to share with us.
It‘s an unbelievable use of a classic Testarossa… I think all guys (almost) agree that Ferrari is a religion!

I make some progress…

It ‘s time for body paint. I paint the Mythos and Testarossa with Zero 323 Ferrari Red
Before that I primed the bodies with Zero Grey Primer. Next time I gone use white primer. As I see here may take better result.

The red bodies after 3 or 4 light paint layers, looks something like this :

In my 275 GTB, I have many issues with Zero Clear Coat. I try to be carefully know, and I gone polished it better.

What‘s your opinion for the body paint? I use a Badger 175 Crescendo (I have it 15 years…).

After that I mask the Testarossa’s body and I paint black the window trim, and the grilles in front, in rear and in engine cover.

I parked for a while the Mythos, until the cleacoating procedure starts…

I decide to finish the Mythos first, so I cleacoat only the Mythos body. After that I polished with Wax and attached some details (dashboard, steering wheel, etc.)
I am not satisfied with the result but I ‘m learning for my faults. I hope to Testarossa and 512TR I do better job.

Sorry for the bad photos but the polished body looks like :

I plan to publicize, as soon as possible, the complete Mythos photos.

Thanks to everyone who followed this WIP!
I wait for your comments…

How many layers of clear did you spray?
Maybe some more polishing will give you an even better result...

I sprayed 3 thin clear layers and one heavier (this is my mistake).
I try to polish again with wax.
Thanks for the comments.

I'd rather try with Tamiya polishing compounds (Fine and Finish), with the wax it will take an eternity to get rid of that OP.

Re: WIP Testarossa's Meeting (Ferrari Testarossa '84, 512TR and Mythos)

Hello Again…
I make some progress in 512 TR…
We start with interior parts. After I primed with an old Humbrol grey…

I start some enhancement to the seats. I begin by cutting the headrest off the seat.
I attached seats backs, from evergreen thin styrene. After that, I make some holes for headrest.
I choose to cut the headrest, from one seat (for driver only) for an asymmetrically and more realistic view. In many cases, I think, the passenger don‘t adjust the headrest, just enjoys the ride…
So we have this:

The interior‘s color, are German Desert Yellow (FS30400) from Lifecolor!! I chose a lighter tone, than Testarossa’s interior. The dashboard painted with semi gloss black.

The engine parts painted with Alclad‘s Aluminum, after a regular masking procedure. As you see, I cut the exhaust system from the back of the engine. (Fujimi give it in one piece with the chassis).

Finally I decide to paint exterior with Zero‘s Jet Black color. I already have it, in my stock (I don’t really know where can use it. I bought it, after a mistake… the correct paint, that I realy want are a Lotus black.)

After that, the body cleacoated with Zero‘s Laquer and waxed.

That concludes these update. I planning to finish the 512TR soon, so stay tuned..

Aaaa, this is not a good modelling picture, but I like it, so I want to share it, with the guys here. Gilles watching my job…

Re: WIP Testarossa's Meeting (Ferrari Testarossa '84, 512TR and Mythos)

Hello,
A little update to my TR…
First I finish the interior, after a flocking procedure and some major updates like seat belts, gear bottom from a photoetch, etc.

After that, I detailed and the body, from its inside part with some mesh, like radiators, behind front grilles and under engine cowling.

At last I attached the engine parts to the chassis (Fujimi gives a lot of screws for that operation). No wiring this time…

Thanks for viewing!

Very nice, I'm a big fan of the 80's Testarossa (even though it was far before my time) just because of how completely bonkers it was, and still is! You definitely do these three beautiful cars justice.

Hello again...
A little disaster with Testarossas cleacoating...

I cleacoat (with zero lacquer) and I take this in 4th layer...

What caused it?
Can I fixed?
Thanks a lot...

PS. I publish it in main page too. Thanks again.
