Woh woah woah...we have rep now? Sweet action...

We put together a meet out here a while back, had a bunch of 3S guys show up. They said their cars were amazing when they would run. I've always felt bad for the 3S and the 300ZX. Never got anywhere near the love for the FD, Skyline, or MkIV Supra.

Re: Volvo 940 -vs- Turbo widebody M3

Well, that is the thing CassiesMan. I think part of it may be that they are not as rare as Supra, FD, and Skyline. One of the reasons I think Supras are so hyped is that they can easily put down outrageous numbers...yet, fairly often they still run poor times for the power they have due to poor power band. As far as reliability goes the Supra also excels in that area. If you have a 2nd gen 3/S and don't beat the living shit out of it they will actually hold up quite well as they have many of the kinks fixed and some stronger parts. They can definately be a PITA to work on at times (which I am soon about to relearn as I replace the sparkplugs for 3 hours+) but at least you don't need to pull the motor to swap turbos like a threehundo ZX. However, like any awd car, you do have to take precautions on unleashing a heart-stopping launch a couple times a day. Unless your Chris from 3SX who's daily driver is a 10 second 3/S that traps 140+ and has unlimited access to 3/S parts lol.

Not to mention average drivers in an above average car make for slow times. The case of more money to spend than skill to use it.

Which can be said with any car, not just Supra's. How many times have we seen cars with money thrown at them but just can't perform as expected due to the lack luster performance at the controls?

Yep, Ive seen a modded evo8 run 14.5's all day long.

Don't you guys remember the kid from Supraforums back in the day?

Blue TT, license plate was "1K HP". There were videos of him running 14's when the car made 800 WHP on the dyno.

Then again, those POS' were dyno queens anyway.

Makes sense. I see a ton of NA 3kGTs all over the place, never ever see any NA Supras. And yeah, you can't really beat an iron block.

Whats the difference between a 800whp Supra and a 1200whp Supra? About three tents of a second in the quarter.

I've only seen one NA Supra around here...and it wasn't NA anymore. I think it was about 600rwhp, give or take.

Re: Volvo 940 -vs- Turbo widebody M3

Honestly, I see more turbo Supras around here than I do N/A's. Generally, I see at least a couple of them at Flashbacks every Wednesday when the weather turns nice.
