What tranny do you have? 2wd or 4wd?

Not sure if this applies to 4wd or not but for 700r4/4l60 you should be able to change gears in the tranny to get the speedo to work right. See http://www.transmissioncenter.net/sp...__va.htm#700r4

Re: 1989 1500 brake light flashing

700R4-2wd from what I have came up with is the speedmeter in the cluster needs calibrated, useing a programming clip, that comes in a service kit.
As far as the trans goes, looks like the gear is on the main shaft, the speed sensor I replaced didnt have gear on it.

What service kit? If the kit covers 93 or newer as well, then yes (93 was the first year for 4L60E) they (4L60E) need to be reprogrammed; however, this is not true for 700r4. You will need to replace/change the gears to get the speedo correct.

Give TCI a call. http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Tech...eedo_gears.asp

Re: 1989 1500 brake light flashing

this is a 1989 C1500, Iam getting info from a service manual, if I know how to , or if you even can do this, I would scan the picture of it where it shows the programming clip, and where you plug it into the cuircit board to program it.
