The fuel pump will be less than $200 if you do it yourself.
totalled
Do you mean just the pump itself, or the whole assembly.

I'd recommend the whole assembly at the miles the OP has.

A Delphi pump assembly will run over $300.00 (Airtex/Carter slightly less, and not worth the 1 year service cycle).
Add Installer markup, plus 4 hours labor, that's about $750 - $1000.00.

Re: 2000 LT Blazer is the worst car

We have a 1997 Blazer 4x4 with now 99,000. Bought it with 87,000 It has given us some head aches but we like it, It is a great 4x4, rides nice, handles good. So from my side we'll just keep fixing it. We paid cash for it so NO PAYMENTS, just repair bills as needed. We probably have put $1500 in it this year, can't buy much of anything for $125/mo. Who cares it is only money anyway.
If you bought a repair manual you might figure out how to do some of your repairs yourself.

Uhh-ohh, Delco $285 to $305 online.
I guess I need to check parts prices more often.
Thanks for the wake-up.

Where can I get a repair manual for a 2000 chevy blazer? I can do the alternator, that's about it.

You can get a Haynes or Chilton from any auto parts store. You can get a factory service manual on eBay.

Check your local library.

Plenty of repair manuals at most public libraries.

Oh, BTW, '97 Blazers take the cake for biggest troublesome Blazers.

Your list of problems is a hick-up compared to my '97 I've owned since new.

Re: 2000 LT Blazer is the worst car

Honestly, I can't complain about my 95 Jimmy. I've had 2 fords, 1 olds, and 2 Toyota's and this really has been a cheap vehicle compared to the others.

I've it for 4 years and have only recently had problems and have only replaced a map and tps.($100.00) I maintain it religously. I add Lucas fuel system cleaner every 3 to 5 tanks of gas. I replace the plugs every 6 months regardless, and filters every 3 months. But I did that with the other vehicles too and it didn't matter.

It is a WHOLE lot better than a car payment!!!

Re: 2000 LT Blazer is the worst car

I was adding a new belt to my list ( I keep track of everything done to my cars) and just out of curiousity, I looked up the total cost over the 2 years my girlfriend has been driving the 92 Jimmy. I bought the car with the 3-4 clutch pack out for $300, Paid $143 for title and plates, $25 for sales tax and $15 for a city sticker. It cost me $732 with tax to get the tranny rebuilt with a 2 year unlimited mileage towing included warranty. While I had the tranny out I replaced the rear main seal and any gaskets. Also while I had the tranny out I came across a new radiator for about $100, so instead of flushing the one in it, I just replaced it to have less of a chance of any tranny contaminents. Also put in new tranny cooler lines, I bought the roll and flared and bent them here, replaced all hoses and belts and fixed the rigged exhaust. I was able to save the converter, but form the cat back was all new. While the drive shafts were out they got new u-joints before going back in. Everything I did to it, including price of car, tax, parts, etc, came up to about $1500 to get it on the road. Shortly after I did the usual plugs, cap, rotor, filters, etc. I put a nice radio in it for her. A few months after she was driving it, the starter started turning over slower when hot. When it was time, the starter was replaced. I looked it up, not counting gas (I do keep track of gas also), but everything else including oil changes has brought the total to about $2100. Not bad for 2 years of service. Quality parts and proper maintenance will help keep just about any car going for a while. After all, if your fuel pump goes out and you replace it with a cheap airtex pump (which normally last about a year total), is the car a POS because the owner wanted to save $100?

But honestly, I can talk about cars and understand most of the lingo, but when it comes to the hands-on/doing the repair, the most I can do is change a headlight. The blazer is getting towed to a dealership tomarrow to get fixed which looks like my estimate of $600 was right on. I really wish I could do these repairs myself. I was lucky in finding someone to do the intake gaskets for so cheap (dealership wanted over a grand).

This car has given me nonstop problems. I am just so tired and frustrated. As far as I'm concerned, all cars are pieces of crap.
There was a time when all I could do was change a headlight but my vehicles haven't seen a shop in years now. See if there's someone you know who can help you with small stuff at first and you'll soon be tackling things you never thought possible. Once you get to know your vehicles and how to repair them the headache will recede. In my opinion it's better to spend the money on the tools you need and learn to do it yourself than relying on someone else...especially the stealerships. A little determination, this forum, and the autozone repair guides and you'll be on your way.

Re: 2000 LT Blazer is the worst car

Still steady driving my 94 vortech with CPI. Replaced "nutkit", $80.00. EGR clogged one time, $5.00 for cleaner. (aLREADY HAD THE SCREEN GASKET), AND RODDED THE PASSAGE, REVVED MOTOR TO BLOW IT OUT. Fuel pump issue, DO not ever buy a fuel pump from Auto Zone OR advance, go to carquest for a Delphi unit. Which by the way cost $7.00 more than Autozone. Got a slight noise from the fron left whell bearing, will replace that soon. Hmm, Yes, radiator, $200.00 with the hoses included. 23 Miles per gallon average MPG. I do not drive this truck very nice. Overheated transmission when radiator went out. Changed filter/ fluid (every 30,000 miles as well) when I did that. Brakes, as usual. Other than that I have driven the truck hard, been off roading, not very nice with it either. 3" body lift with 31 inch tires. Finally had to replace the shocks. And then the heater core. Did I mention the truck has 280,000 miles on it and has been paid off for over 12 years? ALL vehicles have to be maintained. Period. When you buy used you will have to fix things to get them up to par, as the previous owner expected to sell it and did not bother to maintain it. This one has been maitained and will continue to be maintained, by me. I do not allow others to work on my vehicles because in my experience, they do not give a crap about it as much as I do. And it has paid off. I would really like to get that Duramax silverado HD, maybe someday, but not until this truck dies. But then I will resurect it and drive it more. It is worth it. I have not had a car paymnet in a long time because of this truck. Fords are good, Chryslers are 2nd to ford, IMO. Hondas like to eat transmissions and a Toyota I bought brand new would not stay out of the warranty shop. Yes I got my money back. At least they were good enough for that. While this Blazer is fifteen years old and still running strong. And I pull trailers through the mountains. (Added a tranny cooler, we all MUST do that!!). To answer your question, I think you should sell your truck to me. Cheap. I will get it back up to par and sell it back to you. For a tidy profit. Consider it a do over.
