Thanks for the link.
Now I see why you got the rough surface on the prototype.
There is a need for puttying it but it will be fairly easy and fast to do, and you sure won't have difficulties doing it.

Also thanks for the info on the 3D modeling process, I'll take a look at that Photomodeler software as I'm planing to to a few not existing models in the future.

Re: Yellow Dino

Good news for me from Fujimi. I ordered their Dino and hope it will be much better than the same from Airfix.
Nevertheless I continue the work. I finished to mill a body surface. Yellow is a polyester putty.

There are some resin copies from Airfix and Fujimi kits on a background.

3D model is complete now. To compare it with an original my brother made some quick renders in Catia and lay they on a photo. That is one for example.

Re: Yellow Dino

Looking good.

Is it worth to you to continue doing this if the Fujimi is a good kit? I understand that it gives you satisfaction but it does take a lot of time.

Thanks!
Will see. I don't want to leave this invention and don't hurry up to finish it.

Re: Yellow Dino

I am sad. Dino from Fujimi is much worse than mine. The only advantage of this kit is the decal. Here is the comparison in pictures.

Re: Yellow Dino

Why are you sad?!
You should be glad that you can do a better job than the Fujimi guys.

I'm happy too, as I bought the Fujimi kit and will have plenty of work to do to make it look OK!

Re: Yellow Dino

alot of work for minimal imperfections imo but should look cool when finished.
I like the fact that your designing it and producing the model yourself..good luck

May be, but for me imperfections are very big though.
A little progress. The doors are done.

There is a dry fitting.

And I found some new pictures of the engine bay.

Re: Yellow Dino

wow. the airfix body is less curvier at the right places while the fujimi's is gargantuan in comparison. nice work with the prototyped body - can't wait to see the rest of the build.

Re: Yellow Dino

subscribing. Great craftsmanship. You are right: the imperfections may look small, but when you try to build an accurate model they are not!
Thank you for posting.

Re: Yellow Dino

10 years have passed. Lets continue.
The 3D model was reworked. I plan to 3D print everything once again.
