ok...READ THIS! b16a4/b16 170hp (I SAY THAT IT HAS b16a stamped on it! NOT b16a4). b16a1/2/3 160hp. that is exactly wut i say below, but i list wut cars they come in. i've said it in BOTH posts, if u'd slow down to actually read them an not jus see wut U want to see. u want me to copy an paste this again so u'll actually read it correctly? ok, before u make some comment back that really makes no sense, READ THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL U REALIZE WUT IT SAYS! the numbers an the stats are correct. o...an so u kno...jdm is the same thing as the "asian" version as u call it... jus cuz u were wrong...doesn't mean u have to TRY to pick apart someones post...i kno mine is correct an i kno my numbers are correct. check more then one source, an u'll find my stats are correct.

Don't get all pissy dude. The problem with what you are saying is that the EDM B16A2 from 92-95 is the same as the siRII from 92-95 and has 168hp,because they both run the same compression and are the same motor. The B16A4 IS NOT THE JDM since the JDM motors don't have numbers in the code. It's ok,your just a little miss informed. It's had find out info on the internet, but I have written Honda about it,pulled a ton of them out of their respective chassis, not to mention I live in Europe where all the motors are availible. You don't need to try to post something else in your defense because I don't care and...
BTW asian market refers to places that get jspec cars outside of Japan, like Australia.

the SiRII JDM (92-95) comes with a b16a2/3 an has 160hp. THEN the b16a4 comes in the 96+ Civic SI-RII. they are 2 different ratings in different years. sorri to break the news to u, but u've been misinformed. the 92-95 vic's never had a b16a2 that pushed 170hp. that was my WHOLE point...the b16a2...thats rite 2...never pushed 170hp. only the b16a/b16a4 pushed 170hp.
check out: http://www.bseries.net/html/specs/benginespecs.php or http://www.bseries.net/html/specs/benginespecs.php or http://www.teammaster.net/engine.html or http://www.streettuners.com/curve/en...ecs.html#civic the b16a2 NEVER pushed that number. only the b16a/b16a4. im sorri man, but ur wrong...the euro motors...same thing, the b16a2 NEVER had 170hp, only 160. the b16a/b16a4 however did...check more sites...all around. hell goto a honda dealer, an they will tell u the same thing. 'm sorri, but ur numbers are off...

the 92-95 sir2 never came with a b16a2/3. the del sol came with the b16a3 and the 99-00 si came with the b16a2. the sir2 motor is a b16a. the only way to tell if it was a sir2 is by looking at the serial number and if it starts with a 5 then its the 170hp motor or by looking at the plugs which are supposed to be gray if its a b16a sir2.

Re: Engine code b16a b16a1 b16a2 b16a3 ??????
men I have a94 civic dx with ajdm b16 swap, I did it my self (sort of ) and is been hell..... I really hated my engine cuz all the problems I get into. the lates one was this hasport mounts I bougth and didn't fit my engine and when I wen I complained to the store they said I had the wrong engine.... I found out they just got my on my inorance.... my b16 reads 5425353.....but they gave me the gsr mounts (left one 3 bolts) and mine has 2. the ting is that they did make me belive I had a 91 engine. now what's de deal with the ecu? I have p30 but some people tell me that with the p28 they run 14 in the stock motor... I run 15.7 is it the ecu?or just my newbe ass?

Re: Engine code b16a b16a1 b16a2 b16a3 ??????
First off, please don't bring back old threads to ask unrelated questions, start your own thread.
But I know what you're talking about with Hasport. I helped my friend do a swap last summer and we had the same problem, they sent the wrong driver's side mount (3-bolt instead of 2-bolt), although his engine was a GS-R engine. From what I understand it's almost a hit or miss type deal, where some b-series engines have the 2-bolt and others have the 3-bolt. You should just send it back to them and get it replaced for their 2-bolt mount. The people who are using the P28 ecu have it chipped to run with the B-series, so unless you plan to get it chipped (I'd advise against it) just use the P30. I highly doubt people have gained a second in the quarter mile with just the ecu swap, they must have had other parts to increase power as well. You could get your engine to beat him, there isn't a lot of power difference between them, so even some aftermarket cams (and upgraded valvetrain) and a better header could probably help you get the power to beat him. But it also comes down to who is the better driver, no matter what the power difference is. |
