Re: Just replaced lower intake gaskets. Added pics

I'm going to try to post some pictures. (Well...what do you know....it worked!)

Dan

This is the old gasket a closeup of the failure area.

Another shot of the failure area but also showing coolant that drained in to the oil galary which will and did make it to the oil pan. Thus an oil change was needed.

Re: Just replaced lower intake gaskets.

pretty obvious what happened there eh? Man that's a horror movie!!

About how long did the whole job take you Dan? Also, have you divulged the type of scanner you're using? I think previously you mentioned a snap on model?

Yeah....like I said above....I was glad to find a bad gasket...and I was glad it started up on the first try!

I say it took around 6-10 hours spread out between 2-3 days. I started out keeping track....It all blends into a blure. I have 6 month old little girl an old house built in 1890 w/ an addition added in 1980 and to top it off a 15 and 17 year old.

The scanner is a SnapOn MT2500. It's great. I can read ABS, Airbag, and trannie codes with it.

Dan
