I think that if there is still something to be said in a discussion, then there is no reason not to post in that thread.

I think that posting in threads just to get them to the top of the list is a bit cumbersone and confusing in our forum format because, invariably, someone misses the dates and thinks it's a new thread. I appreciate the idea of TTT-ing threads to show off the model car within, but that's what the Gallery is for... A permanent display of the completed projects

True..but there are a lot of excellent models not in the gallery, cuz their creators haven't sent them in (I know I'm guilty in that regard too)

Most of them will get turned over pretty quickly back into the deepths of AF again... !!!

I think if people want to know something about the thread and post in it to ask a good question etc etc then its fine by me....digging them up just to say Well done...looks good etc etc is abit of a time waste for a thread thats a few years old.

It does get messy when you start looking through the first page and there's really old threads in them.

Myself that's been here since the first posts in the model forum was made makes me wonder why....but there is alot of good info and lots and lots of info/pics that newbies have not seen.

Ive just been checking the little reply box...if it has a black dot in it i know i've already posted and its probably not worth going back in to it for a look

The majority said yes, so ... :finger:

j/k

But the no's had some good arguments. Since my goal was just to show all the nice models to the Newies and not asking questions, the main 'no' feedback was that it's a waist of time, confusing people etc. So I won't continue with digging them up. The only thing I can say to all is go to the last page and browse forward. There's a lot of valuable information there.

Making links? I don't like to click too much myself, so I won't start doing that.

Suggestion:
What about everyone who likes to have one is his own thread where he posts 1 pic per model he has, like P-Man's Model Collection . The builder can add that then to his sig and people can have an quick overview of all his models. Per pic he can add a link to his gallery in the Car Model Gallery then for further explanation and more pics. Or is this a P-Man's privilige? I'd like to do it for my own collection. Just an idea

Would it be better if there was an archive section in this Forum? Newbies can then refer to that without having to bring up old threads.
