Re: My RL against a buddy's Stage 2 Cobalt SS (Video)

What kinds of times are people putting with stage 2, high 13's?

Re: My RL against a buddy's Stage 2 Cobalt SS (Video)

Jayson ran a 13.9. So yeah, high 13s should be where you are at. With supporting mods (catback, headers, DP, maybe a cam if they make any good ones for the LSJ) you should be low 13s with a 2.9

yeah, but then we would be gay...

jk

This weekend i installed a coolant resevoir for the intercooler system, butt dyno says it did some good. Car pulls harder for longer doesnt feel like it gets heat soaked as easily.

I got four new mods im working on, one is WOT box, this will allow me to do no lift shifts. Should be good for a few tenths of a second off the 1320.

I also have a stock lower intake manifold that i am going to be doing a port and polish job on.

I am going to make a dual pass endplate for my laminova cores (heat exchanger in the intake) should drop temps even more.

Then finally get some custom tune work done by my buddy who is a really good tuner.

I honestly think i can get below a 13.5@106-107MPH with these mods.

Couple of Speed3 guys are running the WOTbox and are having a ton of success with them.

If you are trapping at 107 shouldnt you be able to get down to like 13.2-3?

Re: My RL against a buddy's Stage 2 Cobalt SS (Video)

I dunno, my friend used to trap 107 in his rsx-s and it wasnt gonna get a 13.2 without a really really good driver or dr's. He was getting around a 13.6ish i believe

Re: My RL against a buddy's Stage 2 Cobalt SS (Video)

well the Cobalt SS/SC isnt a drag car really, most drivers can get really high trap speeds but bad ETS because it isnt geared for drag racing, its geared for AutoX. To top it off this car isnt exactly easy to launch, power is almost instant and it takes alot of pedal/clutch control to get the launch right so you dont spin.

yeah the same company that makes the WOT box for the MS3 is the same company that is making them for the cobalts now. Im pretty excited about this mod.

Re: My RL against a buddy's Stage 2 Cobalt SS (Video)

Christ in heaven this car is hard to launch. Instaboost to FWD is fun and noisy but not exactly effective. 40 roll in 2nd ftw.

I have no greater pleasure in this car than flying through corners that would make an SRT-4 owner cringe. Just the other day a modded WRX pulled up next to me and we did a few corners. I could pretty much keep up with the guy, which I was very proud of. The handling of this thing impresses me more and more.

No lift shift would be amazing, how much would a WOTbox run ya?
