If you f the block, that doesn't affect the head except for the valves. I think it's impossible get break the cams out of the head... think about it... all the cam caps holding it down, the timing belt, valve cover covers it up... too many other things that will keep it inside. And the head is all aluminum. It's strong.

Yea its damn near impossible to break a camshaft. I have heard or it happening but not to often on OHV engines. A block is pretty easy to break when you throw a rod like that. And at that high of an rpm its going to do lots of damage.
