Re: 1/24 R43 '78 Sanremo Pirelli Stratos

Thanks a lot Ouizel, the real car seems much more crispy than the model I'm used to see. I'll try to ask to the proto's autor some other refs and share.
I'm also not decided about the version, I got 2x decals: as now I'm more on the #89.

Yes, I got most of them from the now-defunct mcestoril.pt Le Mans database. A couple of others from 'here and there'. None are mine.

If you come across any more of either of these cars, please do share.

I bought two of the Arena kits, one for the '76 car and one for the '77.

Both kits are the same, just different decals.

Cool little model, Gio. I never know what to expect when I open one of your threads. You always put so much effort into your work and this Stratos is no different. I really like the steerable wheels.

Re: 1/24 R43 '78 Sanremo Pirelli Stratos

Finished! You'll see it in the finished stuff section in few minutes. At leas since I used a very low tarmac setup the weels may rotate just a bit... hopefully they would work better in the Safari version

Just a couple last picts: interiors, I add just the turned estinguisher, no much other than belts.

some other picts in the finished section, thanks anyone for your kind support, ciao.

Lovely!

Beautiful work, I especially like the matte black/gloss red contrast.

Guess I need to finish a certain GT2....

Thanks buddy, don't wory, I got a pile of job finished at 95% waiting for last touches, starting from the Z, the scangi, the TT348, the spare 360 engine and eventually my '05 GTO! Anyway I'm ready for the challange you know!

Nice Stratos. I also have the Big Stratos kit and mine has a metal body. They do very nice photoetch in their kits. Studio 27 and Hiro could learn a thing or two from them. The Big 308 rally kit is also very nice.

Best,

Tom Tanner/Scale Designs

(Thanks guys)

Tom , one of the PE little sheets (those with the front grill) is 0.015 mm thick (didn't typed wrong!!! 0.015mm, aka 0.0059 inch), this is becouse they was able to etch a front grill so detailed! I never found a manufacturer able to etch me someting thick less than 0.1 mm! And often they complain 0.1 is so thin...
One day I must ask to mr. Chiappatti where he etch those... but I guess he wouldn't say me...
Yes also the metal 308 is a havy, robust, rough model that with some care (the belt panel line, in the car's side, is just too wide..) would switch in decent model.
