Re: GTR #019R For sale at Symbolic motors.

I have seen the car three times in the past.

The first time was years ago, when Symbolic brought the car to California Speedway for a historic race event. They ran the car on the track and it sounded amazing. I believe there are some pictures of Patrick Van Shoote driving the car on the track out there (Symbolic had them on their website as well).

The second time was '03 Monterey Week at the RM Auctions.

The third time was '06, when Symbolic had an open-house event at their service and restoration facility.

The car seems much bigger than the road-version F1.

Re: GTR #019R For sale at Symbolic motors.

Let's face it. That is just one EEEE-vil looking machine. It's the red and black. I'm not much on longtails, but it looks like it could hurt you. I'm going to have to get really start my wife. She's supposed to get me one and she keeps letting them slip through her fingers. Thanks for all the photos and the update.

Re: McLaren GTR #019R For sale at Symbolic motors.

Are the larger rear wing and extra aero add-ons what the car had in 1997, or are they the legacy of it's JGTC days?

Would love to see it with the two shorttail GTR's.

They were taken in August 2008 outside the Quail Motorsports Gathering in Monterey, CA. It is one of the other events that goes on during the Pebble Beach weekend.

Not sure on the rear wing, but the winglets on the corners of the nose first appeared during its time in the JGTC.

Got this note and images taken at an event this past weekend from zonda16 on FChat.

Just wanted to share that Symbolic still has #19R. I hear the new owner wants to drive it at a few tracks here in the U.S. before shipping it back to the UK.
