Got the bumpers and skirts on today after a bit of extra sanding etc to get them to fit. Luckly for me i found out today that Tamiya glue will not make a strong bond with resin. So i brought some new super glue called hotstuff which is meant to be really good.
It sets in 10-30 seconds, so you have to be quick.
I used it to attach the bumpers and i have to say the PMan is very very impressed by the stuff.

RyanGiorgio....i just used a sharp modelling knife, running back and forth through the panel line untill it was cut though. Takes a while, about 30 minutes for each bumper.
The front turned out really well, but the back is harder and i stuffed one side up which will need a bit of putty to fix up. Didn't think i went to bad as this was the first time i've done this kind of job
Body is sanded...just waiting for the putty to dry before a final sand then prime

Why don't you show pics of the back, see what needs filling.

Here we go !! The gap was to large for my liking so i've filled it and it will look like a "one piece panel" with no seem line
This is the second coat of putty. The first one was layed on as thin as i could get it to fill the hole then sanded. The second one is now ready to sand when dry. I lay this coat on pretty thick so i get an idea as to were i'm sanding etc the panel to get it looking right.
The side skirt has been filled to take up a slight gap at the rear also.

You could always scribe those lines back on there for more realism, and to your liking!

What I did was filled the gaps with putty then before the putty completely dried I put the blade of the exacto knife ino where the original panel line was. Works pretty well, I just made sure that the lines I made were straight edges.

A good tip here is to use .010 plastic sheet to fill the gap a little. Because you are actually removing plastic when scribing your way through, you need to replace it some how and there's no better way to replace plastic than with plastic now is there?

The gap at the rear of my Celica is ok for me but i did need to add some plastic at the front, i'll post pics 2moro.

And he's off!!!! Looking forward to the build report.

Incidentally what putty do you use? And what grit do you use to do the sanding of the putty?

Day count:2

What about the colour setup? I think black or dark red would suit the lines well.
