Re: new to the scene....
I'd personally get a TiAl WG and probably a cast mani or a tubular mani if you have a lot of extra cash to throw around.

Re: new to the scene....
The slight up and down with the idle kind of sounds like a boost leak to me. As for the MAF and TB, search and you shall find.

Re: new to the scene....
lol ok well as for the boost leak I plan on running a FMIC w/ 3" piping.. do you think that will get rid of the boost leak? ok and lastly i just did a search on here and can not find any info on tubular manifolds .. any suggestions? also thanks for the info/ help I do appretiate it.

Re: new to the scene....
Unless there is a hole in your intercooler I don't see how a new intercooler will solve a boost leak problem. I would suggest making a boost leak tester. The instructions are on www.vfaq.com I did this for about 5 dollars with parts from lowes. Or you can buy one for 30 dollars from slowboy I believe.
As far as the intercooler, 2.5 inch piping will be fine. Get all new couplers and Tbolt clamps for every connection after the turbo up to the throttle body. I've heard of alot of tubular manifolds being prone to cracking. If you could get ahold of a stock 2g manifold and port it, you will be fine and that would be cheaper in the long run.

Re: new to the scene....
Some tubular manifolds are prone to cracking. Cheap crap like pacesetter and ebay off brands will definatly crack on you.
But good brands like DNP won't crack but are pricey$$$

Re: new to the scene....
honestly price isnt an issue cause I want it done right the first time. cause if it was done right the first time I wouldnt have to be fixing everything now... but its well worth it cause like I said before the car is in cherry condition... needs a bath but clean. I am building it to be show and go... mostly cause this will be my every day driver...otherwise I would make thisa track car...
do you have a site for DNP and a good site for a VPR |
