Hi all.
Look at diagram and you will see drl module will not kill headlamps. The diodes are to drop the voltage for the drl. They are dimmer than standard low beams, the two diodes drop the voltage .7 volts each. But you found the switch bad, I bet you will find burnt switch and harness terminals. Dale
