Re: How-To: Polishing Aluminum

They will be coming soon. Give me a couple weeks. I haven't had any free time to work on anything lately.

Re: How-To: Polishing Aluminum

I'm hoping to try doing some polishing this weekend over Easter being as we get a 4 day break. I'm excited to see how it will turn out. I guess I've already sort-of done a little polishing like this when I polished the letters on my VC, but that's just a tiny area, I want my IM to shiiiiiiiinnnneee.

Re: How-To: Polishing Aluminum

What brand chrome paint do you use and whats the process? Ive used Krylon spray chrome but with doo doo results..its like no matter how long I let it dry...it never completly dries. It blings until I touch it then it turns grey. But I once talked to this guy that told me that he uses it all the time with good reults....he says you have to heat the part up first with a torch then paint it, or somthing like that, anyways. How do you do it?

Re: How-To: Polishing Aluminum

Hmm.. I have used many different types of chrome paint and never had any problems with it. Maybe you should try a different kind. You dont need to heat up the part either. I only do that on things like exhaust manifold that need high temp paint. It helps the paint stay on better. But things that dont get extremely hot dont need to be done like that.
