Re: Silverado, not your ordinary build...

Heres the link to the progress thread for the s-10, not much has changed on it really, took second priority when I started the silverado. As far as the silverado goes though I got it resprayed but my air brush tip was clogged as I totally forgot to clean it last use, cleaned the needle but over looked the tip haha. Paint came out decent but it sputtered in a few areas so sanded them down and waiting to get some time away from the girly to respray.

Re: Silverado, not your ordinary build...

Another update!! Good news on this build!! Resprayed the color and was lucky enough to be able to blend it so I didnt have to strip the whole car down and redo it all. Then a peice of debris in the air got caught while I was feathering in a section so it needed to be sanded AGAIN. After class I sanded the area softly to remove and level the problem area, reblended and feathered it in, good as new!!! Now it just needs some clear coat and I can finally try out my new detailing products!!!

Re: Silverado, not your ordinary build...

Yea me and him cleared everything up, believe it or not I was being impersonated and my models were being sold by another person, then that person proceeded to take the money and run tarnishing my name.... all cleared up now thankfully.

Anyway update on the truck, got out of class early today which was nice allowed for some free time so I got the truck cleared finally!!! I will snap some pics and post them soon for you guys so you can see some updated progress!!!

Re: Silverado, not your ordinary build...

Got the motor fully built, needed a little modification to clear the hood but nothing too noticable. I really like the color combination on the motor and I decided I am not running open headers and I am going to do a full exhaust, most likely keep the 2-2-1 set up and have it dump right in front of the rear wheel. Body is now all corrected and blended properly and is now curing for the next few days so I can polish it out. In the meantime I will be working on getting my frame detail done such as installing the airbags and running the lines. I may even mess around with installing the steering assembly, normally on custom build I leave the steering components out, but I think I am going to try to incorperate them somehow. Too bad I lost my instruction manual for this one, never thought I would need it to be honest

Heres some mock up pics of it in primer before I made the initial post, found them on my cell phone haha.

Re: Silverado, not your ordinary build...

Blackwashed a lot of the parts tonight, first time ever doing this and I have to say I am very pleased with the look, toned down teh chrome quite a bit and got rid of tht toyish look to the build. Also did some more frame paint work and lined the windows. Discovered that the windsheild I had tucked away so safely is now damaged. There is a crack that looks like a scale rock chip. If only this could have happened to my focus windsheild haha. On another note I finally did a full mock up and I am really liking the way this truck is turning out!!!

Does anyone have a replacement windsheild for me!?!? or can offer a way of fixing this though I think its garbage
