Re: Thor made a sort of bad decision today...

I dunno man, telemarketing is up there too....haha.

I knew you couldn't hold out Dustin, you never can. I'm just waiting for that thread next month that says "Well, I decided to not waste all this money on my car and invest it instead"...and then around May you'll wanna spend it all on the car again, and then June you'll want to save your money, and then July you'll want to spend it on the car.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND!! You're worse than a woman!!

Re: Thor made a sort of bad decision today...

I've worked at McDonalds since July of 02 and I actually kind of like it there. Its nice to be an authority on something even though I'm not a manager. I know how to do everything and I can do it well, plus I have enough respect from everyone that I can fuck around and not get into trouble. Matter of fact, I actually trained in the 7 younger managers! Its also really nice being able to choose my schedule, my name carries enough weight there that I can almost hand pick my hours. Plus I am making like $8.70 or whatever and hour there, so its not like I'm getting slave wages .

Garrett, you are totally right. Its hard to decide betwen what I want to do and what I should do. What I realized though is now I have a choice... in a few months I pretty much wont. Thats why I'm going to live it up bitches!

$8.75? Damn I can't remember back to when I made that. And if you're training in 7 managers... and you're not one... then there's something not right there son.

39lbs a minute. Do the math it works out perfectly.

I don't think you will be able to make mid 11's on your setup. I think you will be in the mid high 12's but prove me wrong

I want to see track times though for sure when this thing is done

Re: Thor made a sort of bad decision today...

Ha ha, well Dave, I wasnt a manager a) because I was in the marketing department (we've got two people that deal with the in store marketing and various other things, I was promoted to the assistant at 16) and b) I made it clear that I didnt want to be one. We had a "junior manager" position called a Key... its kind of an intermediate step between a crew and a manager. I was asked if I'd consider doing it and I said no. Being a manager isnt much of a raise but it does come with a healthy amount of tests to pass, work books, dealing with the extra pissy customers, and dealing with money... none of which I have any interest in dealing with for a measly $.40 more per hour or whatever it was.

Stevie, I guess I dont know the math behind it, but I did check spyderturbo's tech article and according to that 720cc injectors at 80% IDC, 11:1 AFR, and 93 octane support 41.34 lbs/min.

Times will be hard to guess as I dont know how qaulity of a driver or tuner I am, but low 12's on a street cars with 16g's is not uncommon at all I dont think. I'll be running a Big 16g (capable of 39lbs/min compared to your 42 on the e316g) at probably 23-25psi on E85 with an adaquate fuel system tuned by link using the antilag and stutterbox, FP2 cams, FMIC (though smaller should fit the 16g fine), free flowing exhaust, a IM that will deliver for those upper RPM's, the lightweight flywheel should free up a couple whp lost in drivetrain loss, sprung 6 puck should allow for good launching, and I have taken out the AC system, sound system, rear seat, spare tire, jack, and a bunch of other various smaller things. I dont think high 11's are capable really unless things go very, very well and I lose a couple more pounds off the car, but I know they would be with a sneaky 75 shot or something.

I do think that I'll have it dyno'd once this summer, perhaps I'll rent a dyno for an hour to dial in my tune. It'll make it to a track for sure atleast a few times. I'd have to say the official goal is for a 12.25 or better, but I'll be happy/blown away with whatever I do... after all the fastest car I've driven to date is only capable of a mid-high 13 or so. I was honestly scared when I raced the Camaro last summer and she was only a fraction of the car she will be this summer.

Re: Thor made a sort of bad decision today...

I think his numbers are used with non-turbo BSFC. Just so you know Brake Specific Fuel Consumption is the amount of fuel, per hour per horsepower, that an engine consumes. Non turbo engines are generally around 0.5 BSFC, while turbocharged engines are generally around 0.65.

Re: Thor made a sort of bad decision today...

Yeah, its the ACT 2600 pressure plate with 8k (one summer) of use, a brand new sprung 6 puck disc, and a ACT XACT chromoly flywheel which also had 8k of use. I dont think I mentioned how much I got it for, that would be $315. I'd say thats pretty good considering that the flywheel was $270 and the clutch was $440ish.

Re: Thor made a sort of bad decision today...

Thanks! Also, I was looking at installs for FMIC's yesterday and I decided to say fuck it... I'm going to stick with a supra SMIC. The ethanol wont need the extra cooling and I really dont want to rip apart my front end like that.

So next question, anyone want the 17's of my Cavy?
