So you had altezzas and neons.....and they wanted you to take them off? Clear or smoked taillights I can understand, cuz this one time I almost crashed my car into this guys rear (his tails were blackened and were not even lighting up when he braked hard). Neons i dont understand why they would give you a ticket for those...

They'd make you take off neons if they were Red or Blue because those are emergency colors. You can't have the same colors as an emergency vehicle. Any other colors they cannot (technically) legally make you take off.

yeah but you can't have your neons on while driving on public roads

for instance, you cant turn them on in your neighborhood, but you can turn them on in your driveway

yeah and red or blue is a big no no

When you say "neons" are you talking about the lights under your car, or strobes?

I'm pretty sure all under car lighting, along with strobes (except volunteer EMTs and firemen) are illegal here in VA. So cops can technically make you take them off. Most everything is illegal here though, so it's no biggie.

Not quite...Illegal on the street, but not illegal to have on your car. Meaning that if you're in your driveway or something with your underbody lighting on you're good to go and the cops can't say anything to you. Start driving around the streets with them though and you will get a ticket. It's a section violation though, not a fix-it ticket so you'll have to pay a fine but won't have to remove the parts in question.

True. But the same could be said for many aftermarket race products, as long as you have them on a car that doesn't roam the streets they're okay. I see what your saying though, it's alright to equip your car with neons as long as they aren't running while you're on the road.

Thats mostly because of emissions control issues. You can do anything you want to your engine so long as it passes emissions.

Watch it Eagle

Im a SGT in the FHP( Florida Highwa patrol) i have recently been issues the pursuit Camaro ss police package

just tolet you know your attutudes get you arrested and your car confiscated..i've let 100's of races in progress some upto 150+ and let them go with a warning because im no hippocrit.. we aall ahve done done it just some get caught,,,the best is when i catch upto usually 2 imports relatively quicly with my lights off and when at 120 i back off couple hundred yard and light and sirens go on... the freak..alot almost lose it.. yet still i let them go.. i had my fun.. i get paid either way.. i mean speeding tickects police officer have much higher priority duties than a 85 in a 70 zone.. i mean who ever drives the speed limit.. i've never seen it in my private car unless they are quite old.. then understand they can drive but their reflexes are diminished greatly.. i beleive the limits were designed with that in mind safe for slow relexed poeple...

and do not knock the elderly treat them with respect.. they deserve it and have been through alot of shit ww2.. pearl harbor ,watergate.. alot of things you youngin should pay attention too
for that disrespect i'd make things up to throw your punk asses in jail
