Re: Nismo 400R
Wow that wheels are awesome, and you are doing it a great justice.
I always used aluminum tubing for my exhausts, they come in different sizes and looks better than Alclad imo. |

Re: Nismo 400R
[quote=fastdupree]Hello fellow forumers. I bought this Nismo 400R kit from SAS a couple years ago but never got started on it being intimidated by what I had to do to get the parts to fit the Tamiya R33 body. Anyway, I decided a few months ago to give it a go but only got as far as the body kit, painting and decals. I did all this before I purchased my Sony Camera so not able to show the beginning of the body kit prep. Anyway, Here is some pics of progress so far.
Fastdupree---- I love the the model. Great work .... could you send me a link to SAS so i could also get the 400R Nismo Kit. This is the 3rd time I heard of the kit and I'm so interested in it. It makes the skyline stand out Thank You |

Re: Nismo 400R
Thanks for the feedback all you guys. And thanks energon for letting prortiz80 know about SAS. I always favored the R33 Skyline the most and the Nismo 400R made that easier for me. I feel bad for you priortiz80 and others who love this kit but couldn't get it because of what happened with SAS. I almost didn't get the wheels and stickers when I purchased it but the fact that I paid ahead of time for everything and raised a little hell in the process, SAS decided to send me the entire kit and I was a happy camper after all. I'm sure there is someone on AF willing to give up this kit if the price is right. Thanks tonioseven for your comment on the wheels staying silver because I found 2 pics with wheels being silver. I hope all goes well and end up showing all you guys a good build at the end. At AF, we all have the same thing in common which is the love for cars and model building.

Re: Nismo 400R
Yeah, I miss SAS. They stopped selling things before I had a chance to buy anything from them. I had planned on buying several things from them. They had lots of great product. I'm still hoping he gets things back up and running again.
The 400R is looking great so far, keep it coming!! |

Re: Nismo 400R
Yes, I also have several resin body kits I wanted from SAS but never got.
There was someone on ebay one time that had a 1/24 Ferrari F512M resin kit for Tamiya Testarossa. It always posted at $85.00 but I waited and waited hoping the price will drop next time but never saw it again. I don't think it was produced by SAS though. If I ever see this kit again, I may have to purchase. Last edited by fastdupree; 03-11-2008 at 01:18 AM. |

Re: Nismo 400R
Hellow there you work is awsome. You know the only thing that sucks about building the 400R is now there are no SAS Body kits out there to do one with out scratchbuilding them. I't just takes a longer time to do one now. Keep up the grate work.

Yeah, I only wish Tamiya made a Nismo 400R kit so that I can build another in black color like the one in Playstation's Gran Turismo game. Red is truly the best color for it but black is a close runner-up. Thanks for your comments as always. I am building so much now and trying not to rush anything being that I can't get this kit from SAS anymore. Hopefully it will be finished soon. |

Re: Nismo 400R
Trying to clean up some things then will be able to finish this build. After the Merc Limo and E55, this and the Lexus LS400 will get finished. Then on to new projects like New NSX-R, Ferrari F55 (both in white), Lancer Extreme, BMW 750il, 2 Nismo R34 Z-tunes (one white w/Nismo stripe and other car in mustard color) plus a 288GTO and other Ferrari projects that was started.
