Some long posts in this topic... geeze...
anyway, just a little story... a buddy of mine was goin over 100mph and this cop waited just a few blocks before hitting him with the radar... so it was already too late and he got pulled over... although it is not illegal to have a detector in our area, the police does take a note of it and marks it in your records which is not good if you ever get to face the judge. and i think some jammers are legal because they don't transmit any signals they just modify the signal that the radar sends and when it gets back, it is all messed up and the cop gets confused. of course, if you are obviously speeding, it doesn't matter if the radar doesn't pop up with any speed #'s... you'll still get arrested. :sun:

Radar
I am so surprised nobody has spoken about this. Radar detectors do NOT work for two main reasons: 1)They are using Laser 2) has anybody heard of pulse radar, or its been called on/off radar, thet cop has a button on his machine that turns the radar beam on and off, he keeps it off until the car is in range then flips on the radar. By the time your detector goes off he's already begun to write your ticket and you screwed, then he sees your detector and your even more screwed. So with that in mind DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Radar dectectors are worthless. By the time it detects anything, it is too late. They are a wast of money. I remember when they had those radar jammers out, that was a riot. People actually bought into that. :hehe:

Worthless my ass!
The Valentine 1 is a great radar detector. It picks up lazer. Although you are only suppose to be able to pick it up when the lazer is being aimed on you, I have picked them up several times.. they must bounce..? It has saved me many times what it is worth. I like some of those ideas. I think I am going to take my front plate off..

Damn....that was a lot of info...but thank you none the less...
From what I've heard....ValentineOne is still the best out there...expensive...but if you think about the investment...would you rather make the one-time investment or continuously pay tickets and rack up points on your license (and eventually loose your license)... Actually...the best radar detector out there is to just not speed...cheap too!  CL |
