Re: Civic Cold Start issue
Nope, no rotor in there..it is a motor though. The ignitor is in the distributor and it is a common problem.

Re: Civic Cold Start issue
Honda recall took care of igniter and Takata seat belts swap back in the 90’s. Every few months I use STP injector cleaner to keep the fuel system clean. I never have any issues in Spring, Summer, and Fall. It is a very high mileage but low maintenance vehicle still with best gas mileage in its class.
Last time when tried to start in cold It had a solid check engine light with 8 flashes from ECU. Waited for five minutes and it started all good. Now I don’t know why a TDC Position code when the key is turned in ignition switch, only the pump was hum, Main Relay click, and a solid check engine light with no starter turning. Because if once the starter turns, engine starts right away. Starter spining is normal, no funny noises during spin. Is there is a possibility that the starter motor spinning quietly but not enabling to engage the shaft to turn over the engine sometimes but works the other time. Rotor, distributor cap, and spark plug wires (all OEM parts) all replaced more than 70k miles ago. I thought an old rotor with lots of spark marks usually cause a delay start but the starter should spin. I appreciated for all the feed backs. |
