Re: superbowl XLII

w00t! My dad is definitely happy. They didn't break the perfect season record. Miami is still the only one.

I hate the Pats. Kinda cool to see both Manning's win back to back.

That's been a long time holding record there!
I wish the NFL channel would play some of those 1972-74 games, those were some of the best IMO.

Glad the Giants won !! opcorn:

Re: superbowl XLII

I'm glad that both Manning brothers have won a super bowl. Payton Manning is definitely kick a**. It was one of those rushes to watch the older brother so happy.

the game was SO good. too many things to talk about. but can you imagine how much that manning "baby batter" is worth. both the father and sons have won superbowls. you want a kid that will win you one, they can hook it up :-P it was a great game. even better that the Giants won

I agree the game was good. Like Super Bowl 3, an upset for the ages. However, I must correct you on something.

Archie Manning never won, nor played in a Super Bowl. His 2 sons Peyton and Eli have played in and/or won a Super Bowl, but not him. He played for the (awful at the time) New Orleans Saints for 10 from 1971-1981, with no winning seasons. The best record they had was 8-8 in 1979. He did make the 78 and 79 Pro Bowl though. He played 1 game for the Saints in 82 (4-5 in 82), then finished the season playing in 6 games for the Houston Oilers (they went 1-8 in 1982). In 83, he played 2 games for the Oilers (they went 2-14 in 83), before finishing the season with the Minnesota Vikings (went 8-8 in 83). His last season was 84, again with the Minnesota Vikings (3-13 in 84). He appeared in 6 games that season.

Here is a Link to Archie Manning's stats. You can view how his teams did in each of his seasons also, by clicking on the team abbreviation under the team column.

I'm quite sure she will be weighing-in but don't mess with the math teacher. What we can extrapolate from that is a big zero! and probably the worse upset in NFL history.......no correct that to worse period. Or in other words it doesn't mean anything. Time for Coach Belichick to retire.

Re: superbowl XLII

Watching Belichick leave the field in the way he did before the game was over just goes to show the caliber of the Patriots family. Absolutely discoureous. At least lose with dignity, @55h013.
