Remember to blast off all the old paint! There are sevral ways of going about this... I like a sandblaster, but chemicals work good too (For you panzies out there) Paint is realy heavy! How much do you think it will take to paint your car? Probably 3 or 4 gallons depending on how much you want to spend... Ever weagh 3 gallons of paint? lets just say its heavy....

3 or 4 gallons do you know how much that is. With that much paint I could probably paint 7 or 8 different hatches. You have to keep in mind that 1 gallon makes 2 gallons sprayable. when I painted my wagon it only took me 3/4 of a gallon. To do a 4th generation hatch it will take like 1/2 gallon at the most.

And as for bondo goes.....Don't do it. That is if you plan to keep your car for a while. Due to the fact that it will crack at some point in time. What I do is if there is a dent buy a new pannel, or cut it out and weld a new peice in its place.

And for the rust. what you have to do is grind off ALL of the rust. not just the surface rust. then go from there. If it rusted all the way through then you have to cut the peice out and weld a new peice in its place also....

Yea, the easiest way to get rid of rust is to cut the whole piece out and weld a new piece in. Now as for the bondo chipping later down the line, i don't know for sure on that, some bondo is needed for small dents, but if it is a big dent, just get a new panel.

And Seth, there is no such thing as a Rear Fender, its called a Quarter Panel. Fenders are on front.

Anyone have 2 quarter panels ? i need a passengure side and a driver side.

As far as bondo goes. I'm not touching that stuff. I much rather use Duraglass, alot stronger and well worth the extra sanding.

You could paint a garage with 3 or 4 gallons...haha....Yeah you have to remeber that after you thin it out you get about double what you started with.
