My all-time favorite was was my dobie/lab mix. She had the loyalty of a Lab and the watchful eye of a Dobie. She was my Date-O-Meter back in the day I still miss her, she died 4 years ago after getting bit by a black widow, which resulted in her getting congestive heart failure Afterward I got a little Pug since they are my favorite of the small breeds. I got a small dog, too, because at that time I thought I was going to be moving to an apartment, and most apts. don't allow big dogs. Depending on where I am at by the end of this year I may get a black or chocolate lab.

my 2 current dogs are (DON'T LAUGH!!) Cock-a-poos. cocker spaniel poodle mixes, nothing wrong with them, but you wouldn't believe the laughs i get when i tell people the name . anyways, they're small, really soft, hypo-allergenic (my sister is allergic to most dog breeds), incredibly lovable and loyal and surprisingly smart too! when the younger of our 2 (Maggie) was still a puppy, we put her in cages and/or baricaded rooms until she was housetrained so that, if she did defecate, it would at least be in a concentrated area of the house. but she got out of EVERY single trap we set for her. steel cages, those doorway gates for babies, even a friggin piece of drywall set across the doorway and held up with a chair (she just chewed a hole through it)! nothing stopped her from meeting us at the door when we got home...

my other faves are Basset Hounds (they always look so sad!), beagles, Golden Retrievers, Huskies and Dobermans (dobermen??).

there's someone that lives down the road from me that you see out every morning walking her 2 dogs. one is a Rottweiler that looks like all muscle, maybe 100lbs at least, and the other is a Great Dane that must be about 5'1 at the head. i bet their house never gets robbed...

Don't really have a favorite breed of dog
Not one for purebreds more likely to imbred and go all loopy
but my dog is a German Shepard and Golden Retreiver mix
haha built like mad he weighs 100lbs and little to no fat on him
he basically takes care of the house when we are gone
pretty intimidating having a 100lb dog barreling down on you

i have a American Pit Bull Terrior. He's a great dog and very very good around people. The only thing about him that is a downside is he is so energetic that he would probably be to rowdy for any little kids, but i would never have to worry about him intentionally hurting them. If you are a female it is a great dog to have because of its desire to please and he is very partial to my mom. I like the more notoriously "agressive breeds" Rotts, Sheperds, Pits, they all seem to be extremely smart and quick learners. If i was getting a family dog I'd have an American Bulldog. Its basically the same thing as pit but a little bigger and a lot calmer. Oh yeah by the way my dog humps everything so thats another thing you sometimes gotta worry about. Sorry for the long post.

I have only owned two breeds of dog since I was of an age where I could support another animal on my own. They are the Great Dane. Hands down one of the best dogs you will ever own, or have the pleasure of seeing. Not only are they beautiful animals, but they are fearless, and extremely loyal. And contrary to popular belief they do not need alot of living space. I currentl;y own two of them, and we only have a Cape style house, on 2 acres of land.

The other dog, is a Papillion. Very small, intelligent little lap dog. Got it as a pet for the Danes when I'm not around, like when I'm at work. Very loveable, friendly little sweetheart.
