Laquers go on pretty thin and maybe not too shiny to you rub them out . Let it dry and then Rub it out with compound, I am sure it will be ok. If you want instant shine you need to airbrush an automitive type catalyzed(2 part mix)clear, don't do that without ventillation and a respirator because they have cyanide gas.
