Thumbs down

IMO all that you pay for when you buy DC is the little badge you get on the damn thing and not all of em have the badge. Take a look at the dyno's. 4-2-1's are mid range to high end headers no matter what the brand and is exactly what a SOHC needs. The most you'll get out of any headers is about 8hp and that's on a DOHC with Type R 4-1 header or Mugen. The biggest gain I've seen on the dyno with DC is 4hp. The only other header that I've seen that gives you a good gain is the Landspeed Powercore which puts out 7hp. If you don't plan to boost make sure you do some reaserch for the best bang for your buck. Or you could be like everyone else and buy a DC. Hey I bought one for my old engine.

OR turbo it . but still, answer to ur q, it really jus depends if u want to spend that money for that gain.
Same goes with DOHC. You dont get much from headers unless you go all out. Dc sports are very good header for your ex. Yes you'll feel the difference but not much since its auto.

A friend of mine showed me a link from honda tech that Hytech header put out about 15 plus hp to the wheel with just basic bolt ons! I believe its the best header out there and its jdm style. Dc sports jdm is ranked up there also. Like i said before you're not gonna get much from a header unless u modify your engine more.

I just want a total of like 40 extra ponies and then some NOS.
So what do i need to do to make my n/a engine get 40 extra ponies.
please someone write all the bolts on etc. that i need.
I know auto's suck but i love mine!

So what you af members are saying is that i should get any brand 4-2-1 headers for my car and it will give me the same performance as the dc sports headers?

You cannot get 40 extra hp from bolt-ons unles you go forced induction.
To get 40hp ypou will need to go inside the motor.

The hp gain maybe close but the quality may not! If you want a good header go with DC Sports, if you want a heder that will be bent wrong, leaky, fade and turn colors and break pron welds, than go with a cheap one. I have learned the hard way that in most cases, but not all, You get what you pay for. I personaly went through 3 headers before I got the DC Sports and it was because of the above reasons!

BTW, hondas utilize A HEADER. ONE. NOT TWO OR THREE OR FOUR.

HEADER IS SINGULAR. HEADERS IS PLURAL.

A HEADER
A HEADER
A HEADER

not headers. idiots.

Well with the SOHC you will not gain much HP from just a header but when you add exhaust and a high flow cat then you will gain more horses from the header. I would recommend getting the DC 4-2-1 header that is what I have on my Single Cam.

gonna bring this up again as its pretty close to my question. So DC sports ceramic 4-2-1 header is the best for the common man eh? one or two peice?

also, since my car is an automatic also, would these header and exhaust work with a Jackson Racing SC? on my auto. And would I need anything else to make sure my engine worked correctly? I heard some gaskets for the intake pipes to the heads was a must, but what else?

thanks

btw- the exhaust I was thinking of was the Apexi WS.

Well if you have a jrsc you may want to consider the 4-1 one piece. This will help at high rpms. The 4-2-1 is usualy recomended b/c of the mid range hp increase, but since you have a s/c mid range will be fine anyway
