As long as you've got all the proper smog crap that the car came with, and its functional to a degree... you should be fine.

Like RedNeck said, they can't legally open your hood without having a supervisor present and they have to have a good reason and state the exact thing they are looking for. Just like when a cop asks you if he can search your vehicle....you can say no and then he has to call in a supervisor to get approval and state exactly what he is looking for.

Ahh, I see. Not like that hear though. All the police have to have is suspicion of illegal goods/contraband/conduct and they can conduct a full search of the car. Had it happen to me before. Nothing big since there wasn't anything illegal, but still a hassle and waste of time.

Check your local law books...you might have been searched illegally and not even realize it. Some local laws can be put in place to "modify" the illegal search and seizure part in the Bill of Rights, but they can only go so far. And I hate to bring this up, but you and I are automatically "suspicious" in a lot of cops eyes if you know what I mean.

Yeap, I know what you mean. But I'm pretty sure that here in VA that is the law. Search with suspicion. Like I said, it's never a danger to me really, but it can be a hassle, I know.

Why not just swap in a B16 motor? The 1996? I believe came with the B16 being an sir from canada. I know because a buddy of mine that CJ hates very badly had one until he totalled it. Therefore you can say the motor came stock in the car? It would make more sense. And the B16 would be better to turbo then a B18 would be. Thats what I would do if I were you. Oh, and theres the Oxnard factor to the police, they ARE the law, at least they think they are, and they will illegally arrest you making shit up. The law there is a joke....cops are as corrupt as it comes, not all of them are, but pleanty are...I speek from knowing those who worked among them, so dont be talkin shit if you are one...

Well there is a lot about the b16. Between me and cj we can prolly tell you anything you need to know about them. Come to Carlisle and we can build the damn thing for you hahaha. But I mean there are more parts prolly available for the B16, and it is an easier motor to be turbo charged. Any specific questions can come to me or Cj just let us know how we can help.
