Don't forget that there are other ways to do model making as a profession, like technical models for wind tunnels (F1, Le Mans GT etc) or architecture models for houses etc, and then for movie making....... you just need to practice allot and be a little crazy......... everyone who does this for a living is a little crazy

If you're into building good models, then making models for people is well and good.

If you're really keen, and have a good imagination, you could easily get into TV/ movies. Try and get hold of some set designers in your local area, and see what you can do. Maybe that they want some items made up for backgrounds on a TV show, then don't need to be that critically correct, or maybe some other close-up work, which would need to be better.

Also remember, you build mostly 'clean' models now. For movie work, etc., they would need to be weathered, or 'built in motion' and stuff.

Try it, it's a lot of fun. You'll start it as a sideline/ part of your hobby, but it could become an occupation if you get the right contacts and stuff.
