it's just hand paint. base plastic is white, so paint whole head cover semi-gloss black then rub the black paint on 'corvette' letters and paint them red.

Phil, you also did great effective work on your Peugeot 206's differentials.
in case of my way. first, apply flat aluminum(acrylic) by airbrush.
then paint grooves and corners diluted flat black(enamel) by hand brush. after flat black paint is dry, soak a swab in enamel thinner just a little and wipe off the flat black paint.
