yea i have always loved rotaries, Mainly because they can make so much power with so little displacement, the rx-7 has 1.3 liter displacement, considering thosee engines have been to 600hp thas alot of hp/liter.

I thought that the RX-7's rotors were roughly 11 lbs? Maybe I'm wrong, but 14 lbs sounds too high. I know Racing beat makes lightened rotors that range from about 8.2 to 9.7, so 14 sounds awfully high.

The main problem was overheating caused throug burning a bit of oil. So if you didn't used good oil or didn't replaced it often enough, you had from time to time sedimentations which caused again more friction -> overheating. but now with the new renesis this should be over
the old 13G engine from mazda could rev up to 9500 on the tach(red section started at 8500):bandit:

I have had many RX-7s and still have 3. The rotary engine is great. They can rev much higher than "pist-on" engines . They have a buzzer, but not a rev limiter, so if you go 1k RPM over redline on stock internals, bye bye engine (not that its happened to me).

Some helicopters and small airplanes use rotary engines, in operation they will be running in the 4.5k-6k range, in time of flight.

Hello! Where did all the rotary fans go?

Keep the rotary spirits high and alive!!!

Anyway, another reason is I wanna know what are the mod setup u guys have for your RX-7s because I need some idea and tips for street racing and street legal drag racing to improve performance on my RX-7s. The setups must not sacrifice either one of them: acceleration, mid-range power and top end.

Also, please state IYO the best parts u ever tried and tested on your RX-7.

Cheers ppl

I'm still a rotary fan but it's too friggin expensive here so I bought an S13 (1.8 Turbo) and will mod it when some money's around. Nevertheless the dream about a 20B driven FD is still alive but maybe when I'm older an got a good working business.

Well nice 2 see ya again...anyway, RPS13 has the looks and a drift car just like FC3S. Plus, The SR20DET is the best inline4 in Nissan catalogue of performance engines. A real gem. Good choice man
