For the sake of comparison, let's toss the new Acura TSX in this conversation, what do you guys think? Will it outsell the Toyotas? Will it outrun the Altima? What do you guys think?

What in Toyota/Lexus' or Nissan/Infiniti's lineup would the TSX compete with? The Acura TSX is a four-cylinder FWD $25,000 sedan. The Altima and Camry four-cylinders are less expensive. The G35 and IS300 are six cylinder and RWD, and only slightly more expensive.

Although I'm not entirely sure who Honda is aiming at with the TSX, Honda itself can't think there's much of a market to target. The TSX is imported and Acura doesn't have any high-volume models that are imported. The imported RSX sold 30,000 units last year compared to the 60,000 TLs and 53,000 MDXs. The TSX will probably take more sales from the TL (which won't be too many) than it will from Nissan or Toyota products.

The Altima has had a huge sales increase over the prior model...and Nissan's adding more production capacity next year.

Here's the other side of the '02 Nissan Maxima/ Altima coin: You get 15 more horses, a less-roomy rear seat, and a less-than-current beam rear axle design in the Maxima, probably for about the same money as an Altima (after a bit of dickering). The all-new Altima (Sept. '01) is a valid Toyota Camry/Honda Accord fighter...... the Maxima is aggressively priced: just $24,699 for the base GXE model (which will be artificially held to five percent of production) to $27,099 for the deluxe GLE. The sporty SE starts at $25,449, whether you equip it with a four-speed automatic or the new six-speed manual. We expect the Altima V-6 to hit the $23,500-$26,000 range.

Im also very much aware that the 2001 Best Selling Car was the Accord, and Now is the Camry with almost a half a million cars sold. And with 1,756,127 vehicles total for 2002 thats Toyota's best sales performance in its 45-year history. Not too mention they have the best selling used cars as well.

Seems as though the Max and Altima are pretty much the same and neither seem to really fit in the same class as the Avalon, hence it out selling it because it's targeted to a slightly different audience with the 5speed, 255hp, 6.4sec 0-60 time (Max). Basically those the Max & Altima are for people willing to trade off a bit of comfort/Luxury for better-than-average performance.

The all-new for 2004 Nissan Maxima, which is in production right now, is more powerful, larger, and more expensive than the previous model. It has moved away from the Altima's current market and into the Avalon's market.

I like toyotas but we need to have a stronger lineups with having some good sport compact and sedan cars that can step up to honda and nissan. We need to have an stronger aftermarketparts for toyotas. I pissed because they dont really have much aftermarkets parts for camrys. They have the universal crap to have put on.
THATS PISSES ME OFF!!!

First off, Toyota is way ahead then any other company out there. Toyota doesn't need to catch up or step up to any challenge, They have always stayed one step ahead of the game.

The Camry V6 will be completely new this year with a 3.3l that was brought over from the Lexus platform, it will go in the Sienna and Solora also. The 4cyl has just beenn replaced with a smoother faster 2.4l engine also.

The reason why there isn't many mods out there for Toyota not counting the Celica, Supra and MR2 is because everybody talks aboiut how they want stuff, but nobody actually buys them. the 1MFE which is the V6 engine Toyota is currently using in their cars has a supercharger that wont viod your warranty, I have just come out with a Supercharger for the 4cyl engine 5SFE which is an awesome piee and currently doing a group buy on.

There are plenty of stuff out there you have to know where to look. My site is currently down, going through a new look and feel, and will be adding a forum for the visitors of the site. Rod Millen has a lot of stuff for the Cmary also.

When it comes to performance Toyota knows what they are doing. They don't just put anything out there. And for Honda/Acura, Nissian (sp?) and Mitsu, everything looks the smae and basially runs the same. When you see a Toyota tricked out or at the tracks, you best believe that there is something more there.

I know alot of ppl who owns a Toyota who rather have the sleeper look beause of all the haters and ricers out there and loves the look on there face when they get spanked.

If people showed more interested in their Toyota and followed through with wanting to get stuff for their ride, trust me there would be alot more stuff out there. I have already custom designed a bodykit and grille for the 5 gen Camry 02+, currently working on one for the redesigned Solora. and have plenty for all others ars and truks, except sorry guys the Avalon. There has not been enough interested in kits for it or other stuff.

Toyota, Lexus and Scion is just better all around. If you looking for more info hit me, I would love to show you some nice looking Toyotas that not only look fast but run fast also.

the thing is that toyota is 3 car manifacturer in the world with the line up we see now....they dont feel like going with the other car compagny...

anyway in 2005 a bunch of new cars are comming ...

new supra
redesinged celica and come back of the all-trac with the 4 gen of 3sgte...
scion ax bx and other more exciting cars...
echo hatchback is here in canada allready so it is just a question of time that it will be in the US...

the caldina is comming 3sgte all trac 260 hp...

maybe even a corolla hatchback...(non official)
and almost forgot...the corolla s will have the 190 yes 190hp 2zzge not the 180 hp version we have in the celica.... so its more likely that the celica will have the late gen of 3sge 215 hp .....
so be patient...
