I saw that show also, I'd like to add they've been experimenting for years with degrees and duration of submersion to find out what was the shortest time required to kill all the sperm. The thing was they would remain sterile for a week or two after the last submersion and then would begin producing sperm as usual again. I don't remember how they got the temperature exact but they had set up toilet-seat type thingies suspended over the heated water. Apparently it wasn't too painful as they weren't wincing upon submersion.

Obviously this method wouldn't be recommended for those who aren't in a committed relationship because of the STD risk. It would make more sense for a committed couple who are both disease-free and don't want rugrats for the time being, but might later.
