Thats cool. Id say mechanical is the most difficult. My friend is a chemical engineer.

well, right now the economy sucks and everyone is having a hard time just getting a job but most people start out at around 55,000 or so for both of those. I myself sould start out around 50,000. The nice thing is that in Engineering you advance quickly. My sister works for Harley Davidson and is only 28 and make well over 80,000

Sounds good. I'd like to be well off doing something I like to do. I think I'll be happy with engineering.

try to get you calc out of the way. In engineering you have to take a minimum of calc 2.

I'm not an Engineer nor do I play one on TV. I am a Designer... Translated that means I have over 10 years of experience and don't have a BS level degree, I train new engineers.
I work in Aviation and design mechanical parts and pieces, electrical cable and harness parts but not to the board level, though I could. And Systems components. A jack of all trades...

for engineers, math is the foundation. calculus is the basics you will need to understand most of the topics. algebra is just part of calculus. differential equation is required for solving problems. physics will be your life if you go for mechanical engineering.
all engineering fields require physics (computer engeers don't really use it in their jobs).

Well, I like math, I have no problem going beyond calculus. I will be taking it my senior year in highschool.

make sure you're good at trigonometry first.
it's good to learn some calculus in high school, but you're still required to take calculus 1-3 in college (the one you take in high school has no credit value in college).
