In my part of the world...

Kapiti Dairy (who also make super-premium cheese) do a line of very expensive ice cream (think Haagen-Daaz but better). These are very rich ice cream and the other day I sat down with some friends for dessert and we had a degustation of ice cream:

firstly we had Raspberry and White Chocolate - a combination of fruit with white chocolate chips.

then we had Irish Fling, which is best described as Bailey's Irish Whisky liquer and Butterscotch ice-cream

and we finished by having mocha fudge which was a rich coffee ice cream swirled with fudge.

Because the ice cream was really really rich we had about a one-inch sized scoop and paused between the ice creams.

Goody Goody Gum Drops

I remember a story about Rachel Hunter who once worked @ Swensen's Ice Cream Parlor before she went modelling full time.

It's been said that she used to pick out the either the gum drops or the bubblegum out of a particular ice cream when she was bored @ the shop waiting for customers.

No word on whether she had a low cut uniform or leopard print pants. (You can take the girl out of Glenfield, but you are damned if you take the Glenfield out of the girl!)
