Wow, that is one of the best Boxsters I've ever seen, and that only in 3 days. When I try to do that, always, always something goes wrong...

Well Done!!

That's one of the most beautiful cars you've made of the ones I have seen. By the way I got your book on airbrushing for Christmas, it's a wonderfully done book.

Thumbs up

Just got back from seeing this model in person, it's even better than it looks on here! Bob did a flawless job on it and that interior color really pops!

Thanks!

It was fun, long hours notwithstanding! I have to agree w/Veyron, it does look better in person...sometimes a model looks better in pictures, sometimes it doesn't. I don't have a convenient place for attractive outdoor shots. And wait 'till you see Veyron's latest!

Awesome work, were you assisted by Mr. Food Dehydrator?

Yes, the dehydrator was working overtime on this one. The bulk of Saturday was spent painting-the second coat of lt. gunmetal, then clear, then all the interior and chassis parts, many of which needed to dry before masking for the black trimwork...from 6pm to 11pm on Saturday I was masking and airbrushing Tamiya SG Black acrylic. Think I spent about 15 hours on Saturday on the model, 4 1/2 on Sunday morning, and about 5 hours Wed-Fri getting the body prepped, primed, and painted w/the basecoat.

That is really cool, I like the blue interior accents, they go well with the silver body colour. Where can I get one of these books you guys are talking about?

Thanks, I like the color combo a lot, ever since my mom bought a silver 2000 BMW Z3 and we ordered the interior in "topaz" blue...quite stunning, unexpected, and it looks really good compared to the red that everyone else uses w/silver or gray cars.

The book "How to use an Airbrush" is by Kalmbach Publishing, if you don't find it at a local hobby shop you can order it from Scale Auto magazine, or their website (or Kalmbach's), or from Amazon.com by doing a search for the book or my name "Robert Downie". The book is written for modeling..no t-shirts, murals, or license plates...only models!
