I'm not Jewish but I can relate. I kind of frown on the term "ricer" but that's just my personal opinion and is not meant to reflect on anyone else's opinion.

here here clates. they spend WAY too much on parts that don't even work! sure, the carbon fibre Zenitani JGTC wing that i like would probably cost over a grand, but at least it works dammit! since when do Honda's need downforce on the rear wheels anyhow? they're front wheel drive! do the owners want the front wheels to lift off the ground? another attribute of ricers is the over-usage of Nos. they think that as soon as they're car has Nos, then they're bad-ass and fast as hell. not so. i can respect MOST people that put alot of effort into a show car, such as lowriders and even some of the ricer "Hot Import Nights" crowd, but i cannot respect someone who takes a crappy car, makes it LOOK like it's fast when it really isn't, and then swears that it's quicker then wind. if you have all that same crap done to your Honda, but it pulls ass, then i can respect it to some level.

Not necessarily that but I do really like JDM cars! I just hate when I see the cars that make all kinds of noise and are crying out for attention but I am able to beat them with my 4-door stock, OLD, V-6, domestic Pontiac Grand Prix! Not that I try to race but you can't help it when there's some guy revving his engine next to you looking at you like you're privileged to be on the same street as he is!! I like all types of cars as long as they're tastefully done and this will reflect in my model building but when I see a BONE STOCK '89 toyota pickup with a 2 1/2" muffler, I gotta ask myself where will it end?! I don't pretend my car is something it's not but it gets the job done since I can't have an R-33 GT-R right now. Just one man's unimportant opinion.

Dont forget the $10 "Type R", "Powered by #####",and Japanese characters stickers that boost HP by... mmm... what was that... or yeah, 0 HP!!!

The only "fear" is not laughing at them when you're next to them at a stoplight!

You're not exactly getting the point; it's not just the car but the attitude that comes with it, so to speak. And as for "learning respect" You don't know enough about me to make that judgement. You only know of the statements I've made here and of the opinion you've formed about me based on that opinion. Thank you.

Ricer? In Belgium we call 'em "Johnny"...

Nothing cooler then with my 69bhp, Stock 1.9 D ZX with steerable rear axle!! outbraking ricer and truly upgraded hatches on motorway exits etc. On a straight line it is all over at 100mph but on twisty curvy roads it's gutts and experience that counts! That's where the differences lay between men and boys - lol!

In the end I don't really care what people do to their car, I don't have the money to upgrade mine, but when it comes to driving, form or function upgrades don't take you far, if you can't make properly use of it...

Nope, you can have a huge body kit, huge wing, altezzas, super cool looking vinyl stickers, 20 wheels on something that can't fit 20s on it, dropped to the ground and still not be considered a ricer aslong as you know your car isn't fast and don't brag about how fast it is. Ricer is more of an attitude then a look to a car. Honestly to me all of the things I mentiioned I wouldn't put on my car but if its tastefully done you have to respect if because of the hard hours they put into it.

here's my $.02, i am proud be classified under yourt defintion of Ricer, my car IS fast, and DOES look good, i am not just saying that, as i know some people do, i have put hours upon end into my baby and I'll be damned if i'm gonna lose to some highschool kid who's daddy bought him a brand new wings west body kit to make his sons d*^@ feel longer. I love my car and i respect everyone's opinion on here but i just though i'd throw that in.

If your car is fast then your not a ricer. The general definition of a ricer is someone who makes there car look fast and swears it is, but it really isn't. To me a ricer is NOT the car, it is the person who drives it. A car doesn't put those things on by itself and make it sound cocky does it? The term ricer should be changed to non functional parts. But lets look at an example of a "non functional parts person"

I wanna buy a turbo. Wait its $3,000 USDM, I can't afford that. Let me buy some things before that. Altezzas $150, CF rear wing $200, NAWs $600(plus most non functional parts people don't know how to use it or that you should build your engine if your running high shots so they could blow there engine right there), Neon underbody kit $150, neon tubes $100, lowrider wheels on a "street" car $600 used, Vinyl windshield banner $30, stickers $50. Think right there is little over $1,000 when you can find a used turbo for around that depending on the car. This is where my "Quality over Quantity" comes in

ok clatescivic, i understand now, i guess i just misunderstood your defintion, cuz like i said in my thread i don't like the kids with their body kits and all either unless they got the power to supposrt it, but i also respect everyone's vision so if they want all show and no go, that's their choice.

Does your car have the KLZ-FE?

I know a guy w.a Probe V6, and I never respected those cars till I rode in one. Whooo damn that car is sweet.

Greddy makes a functional exhaust that sounds really deep as opposed to the weed-whacker sound of most exhuasts. Those cars can be quite quick if done right.
