Quite possible, and even impressive, if you consider a stock Integra fast, which I do not.

I dont consider them fast in the realm of straight line cars but for an all around daily driver that's decent on gas I think they're decent for a FWD inline 4.

It would definately make a better winter driver than the Monte, as much as it hurts to say that. FWD owns in the snow. Yes, that's right, I just endorsed front wheel drive. Mark this day in your calender.

It's always better to start with a factory turbocharged car than to try to do it yourself. Everything is already set up for a turbo system, the ignition and fuel systems are already calibrated, and the plumbing is all there.

You could probably get an easy 200hp from it, which is fine for a daily driver, and about as much as I would want in a FWD car. If you want a fast car, get a first gen RX7 with a blown engine, and bolt in a 5.0 V8. Total cost of project, maybe 2500 USD. 2300 lbs, 50/50 weight balance, 230hp on pump gas and 30mpg. As much performance potential as you want, considering a massive aftermarket for brakes and suspension, due to the popularity of the RX7 in club racing, and a massive after market for the drivetrain, because it's the Ford Windsor smallblock.

Yeah I've seen a couple of those floating around town. It says something like "tuned by lotus" on the side. They are pretty quick for a early nineties isuzu.

Yeah, it says "Suspension tuned by Lotus", which many people seem to think means that Lotus designed or made their suspension, which they didn't. Lotus sorted out the springrates and shocks, as well as the camber.

AH, HA!!!

Well, then I would say screw it then. It is not worth modding IMO, had Lotus designed the suspension, then I would say it is, but not anymore.

Hey! My team's #2 and I had a blast turning a Geo Storm (Impulse's bastard sibling) into a quasi-autocross car. We gutted the interior, then stripped all the stamped bracing out from underneath the fenders, hood, and doors, welded up our own tower braces out of tube steel, welded up our own 2inch exhaust, complete with scavenged hi-flo cat off of a junkyard 300ZX Z32 and "gift" header (don't know where he got it, don't want to know), polished the ports and intake, and installed a thinner head gasket to raise compression. Lastly, we installed dropped springs, self-shaved Falken tires, Impulse 5-spoke wheels, a bit of toe-in at the rear, we tightened up the handbrake cable, and removed the handbrake ratchet.

It was a blast. The car was really agile, really loud, and and corner we couldn't drive around we'd just yank up on the handbrake and around we'd go. Not bad for a grand total of about $400. Of course, we paid that in cash and there were four bullet holes in the hood, so... who knows?

For the rest of my life, I'll never forget the image of me and my teammate barreling down sidestreets at 70mph, the whole car shaking and rattling like it's held together with shoestrings, the engine screaming like crazy, then getting to an empty intersection, swaying the car, and pulling the handbrake to slide around the corner. Ahh, days gone bye.
