Like your RX-7, gives us a bigger pic. I sold my RX-7 after I bought the talon tsi awd, I literally stepped off the cliff, I'll never forgive myself for that. There are a lot of nice riceburners, but as you know, the rotary makes push-rod/valvetrain motors obsolete, some day the rest of the world will figure that out. I'll get another RX-7 someday, and I'll always keep my max for the days I need a back seat, looking for a buyer for my talon--it's a babe magnet from the outside, but under the sheet-metal, it's a maintenance hog- some of the most ill-concieved machinery available.

hey n8,
are rotary engines known to have lower torque ratings than normal engines? I was thinking of getting a new rx-8 when i get a new car but i saw they only make 159 lbs of torque. but since the piston is spinning in a rotary engine and doesn't have as much resistance as a normal engine, less torque wouldn't matter right? i don't know much about rotary cars so i might have it all wrong.

Damn, unf4gvn, don't be so damn unforgiven, you just wanna murder them on both ends dont ya? I mean you get a Skyline and you murder them on or off the track and you get a Max and you murder them on the streets and the strip<where da honeys be at<haha.

n8tuner, I'd probably pick the Lancer EVO over the WRX, looks better and probably a little bit faster, maybe cheaper (although I don't know the price), anybody know how much the EVO is gonna cost when it drops???

30G's, that's it? I might have to go cop one of those, hey P did you see that new Grand Prix GTP Pontiac is supposed to be dropping?

I think it was 280hp/280tq and maybe all wheel or rwd, anyway I wonder if that will make it faster than the new Max.

yeah it's the new GTO.
they have them in Australia now they're called holdens. i'm pretty sure holden is Australia's Pontiac/GMC

they're gonna be awesome. it's a suped up version of the pontaic grand prix GTP. my friend has a 2000 gtp now and i used to beat him until he got a 3.55 or maybe it's just a 3" pulley for the supercharger. now he's makin like 16 lbs of boost. they are heavy cars

i would rather have the evo 8. if you buy an aftermarket intake exuast system and wastegate you can put out almost 400 hp. get a greddy turbo and it'll do backflips.
turbo cars get the best power rating from modifications

I saw the holden on another forum, that thing was tight. Is it rwd or fwd? I like the GTP but they are heavy, they can roll from 0-60 but after that the weight starts to become a factor. That EVO 8 is gonna be a monster if they can keep that price at or around 30G's or so.
Nissan better start thinking of offering a TT or single Turbo with that Z if they wanna be able to compete with the sales the EVO is gonna get.

I've been hearing a lot of people say that they are gonna buy one of those, I think I would choose an EVO over the WRX based on looks alone. I hear they (Suburu) are supposed to be redefining the look of the WRX, you know anything about that.

Yeah, 400HP and an aftermarket Blow-off Valve>Psssssh!!!

the new subaru imprezza is called the sti. It's got the body kit from the old 2.5 rs turbo imprezza's. i like them better. it's got 267 hp instead of 227. the evo 8 got 276hp and 283 lbs torque.
i read nissan has plans to release an infiniti G35 sport coupe 6MT with a supercharger in 2005. i ddin't see anything about the 350Z though

Supercharger, besides a Turbo is everything I could want in a Max. I like the old Imprezza's look better than the WRX too, I think it's the big butt and the bug-eyed lights on the WRX that make it look odd.
It's not really ugly, it's just more odd, although they do tend to look a lil better in black.
I imagine though that if Nissan does decide to release an SC version of the G coupe that the same would be offered to the Z, they wouldn't want to usurp sales from the Z.
I mean think about it, who would want to buy a Z when you can get a SCG that IMO looks better and is more luxurious plus you get better service from Infiniti and the status quo to go with it.
Thanks for the info P.

pretty sure the NSX is a little lighter than the supra, remember acceleration=force/mass.
Yeah, like I said, you would only get the supra if like me, you couldn't afford the NSX, and I would only get the NSX if I couldn't afford the Milano .
the best bang for the buck sounds like the WRX, but hell, I can't even afford that..
I was thinking on this one a lil bit and know that I've thought about it I wouldn't want to waste the extra money or time it will take to mod an NSX. I believe the base price on the car is already like 85G's or so, so by the time you finish modding, you may as well by a Ferrari.

This way you'll already have the power, it'll definitely look better, you still spent around the same or a lil more but you still get all the prestige that you inherent in the status quo of having a Ferrari.

Oh yeah, soon to dethrone ugly ass WRX in best bang for buck category will be the EVO. <30G's and looks to match.

an nsx is somewhere around $92,000
I would take a $47,000 ZO6 vette over an nsx. you could get 2 ZO6's for one NSX. it's just a status symbol

See that's what I'm talking about 2 corvette's for the price of one played out NSX, besides the Vette is my dream car.
Droptop with Lingerfelter Turbo in all black baby, yeah.

Vettes are just 2 door impalas, really 2 big to be a sports car, (but way cute),would take the 350z (blue), or RX-8, if can't afford NSX. The EVO is out of the question, mitsu makes garbage motors--been there, suffered thru that, checkout dsm.org forum to see how the losers are struggling--constantly rebuilding motors, but checkout dsmtimes.org to check out their impressive track times--(172 mph))-of course you could make a yugo go that fast if you put enough cash into it.
BTW, the next vette you see, take a close look at the tires and notice the extremely uneven tread wear, indicative of poorly designed or executed suspension.

Vette too big to be a sportscar, you must be smokin something, anyway on a recent TV MotorTrend Track test the Vette spanked every vehicle in it's class and some way above it (in terms of bang for the buck) in every category, 0-60, 1/4, slalom, braking, overall track time and top speed. Still too big to be a sportscar, that's nuts, anyway I believe you said that cause you are a lil RX-7 biased.
No harm meant on that, I like the RX-7 & 8 and 350Z as well, the Z can't compete with the vette, sure it costs less and maybe look better.
The RX-8 can compete with the vette but then again, there's no one in the market who will buy it at the price it cost, they figure they may as well get a vette.
And like P (Paonessa) said you can get 2 Z06's for the cost of a played out NSX but I tell you what you pay all that money for an NSX and an RX-8 and I'll take a Z06 with no mods and wax that @$$ any day of the week. Oh, and don't even bothering to mention the 350Z<unless you get some Turbos, you may as well not even bother.
Still think the Vette is too big to be a sportscar, just ask anybody who's ever raced one if it's a sportscar, they'll say it is especially while there eating all the exhaust fumes trying to choke out a reply.
