The Corvette has always put up some of the best lap times that any car in its price range could put up. The C6 is not the first Corvette that can handle well. The C5 Z06 actually handles better than the C6. In fact, the C5 Z06 even handles well enough to (*gasp* brace yourself!) run with the R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II at Nurburgring. I know of numerous high-end motorsports groups in Japan that import and tune all kinds of Corvettes. Yes, I agree that much of the Corvette's appeal is in its image and its heritage, and that doesn't really fly in Europe and Japan, but a true automotive enthusiast from any country will appreciate the Corvette and its fine engineering.

thats like saying people in NZ drive Enzo's... i don't know if the fact that a small amount of any population doing something really signifies that thats what the majority choose...

The people who import Corvettes charge a lot for them.

The C6 will go to the UK officialy along with new Cadillacs. They NEED to price it right in order to get more sales than the C5. Read here.

The 2005 Corvette and the 2006 Corvette Z06 are a lot better than the Corvettes they replace. The new fenders look a lot like the fenders of the C2 and C3 Corvettes. Check out the following links:

Here is the new C6-R which will be raced in the American Le Mans Series.

Here is an article about the 2006 Corvette Z06's 500 hp LS7.
