might want to check your numbers unless they have made it some type of alloy which is better resistant to heat. Either way turbos ftw PERIOD

Of course they are some type of alloy. I think pure aluminum melts at around 1200 F, but adding various other elements and heat treatment/cold working can change the melting point.
Also, the material can and will be affected before melting point. Creep is a type of mechanical failure than can start to happen IIRC between T=.3 and T=.4 where T is the temperature of the sample divided by the melting point of the sample. |
