Re: Audi R8 (M-Tuning Style)

If you're going to omit the number plate, I'll assume you're going to complete the chip cutter pattern. It's not very apparent in the PS and looks kinda odd as a result.

If you're going to move the 4 rings to the grill, I think they'd need to be bigger.

Two part grill can work (as it is the "norm" really) but the shapes are going to need a bit of work. The top oval shape doesn't gel with the rest of the car whereas the bottom half would probably look better if it matched the side ones more in terms of the lines. The anguler shaped top grill doesn't quite sit right either but could only be because you haven't matched the curve of the bumper properly.

How about fill in/blank out the bottom half of the grill and have a letterbox top grill? Perhaps a bit too 360Modena though....

I too am tempted to say that stock is pretty good looking as it is although I'd be tempted to make the front splitter a little bit deeper to make the nose pointier. Of course, I'm not one who's going to be doing the carving.....

Re: Audi R8 (M-Tuning Style)

I like the smaller, "edgy" grille, but would like to see it with the Audi rings in the center. I also like the stock grille with the larger rings.

Re: Audi R8 (M-Tuning Style)

The 7th option looks really cool. But it takes away from Audi's huge center grille design they're goin for. But I'd go with the 3rd option. No emblems or front plate. It's gonna suck here in NJ when these cars are on the road....we have to have a front license plate. The audis just don't look right with them on. So anytime a sport scar like this comes out, it just works great without a front plate. I dunno if that is legal in Europe like that..but it just looks so much better.

I like the standard withought the badge and plate. Stock with un-necisary stuff cleaned off, looks great on anything.

Option 3: Standard without numberplate and Audi logo
This is the best, for me... i think...

Re: Audi R8 (M-Tuning Style)

hope you guys like Option 4, 'cause I went for that option.

I did do some changes, I altered the height of the logo and added mesh instead of the original structure.

I have scratchbuild the grille.

I started with a piece of styrene in the shape of the grille,
and added some mesh to it.

I made the Audi logo with small pieces of styrene tube.

And the lining around the grille was made with a piece of wire.

Here's the scratchbuild grille along with the grille from the kit:

I hope you like it.

Re: Audi R8 (M-Tuning Style)

Sweet, it reminds me a little bit of the tt front grill. Option 7 looks cool to, looks like a s4 type grill. The grill is so much better than that revell one. Keep us updated.
