Re: Audi R8

Today I finished the rearbumper. I cleaned it and after that I painted the body TS-46 Dark Mica Blue

I'm not sure if I'm going to carbonize the panel or add aluminium on it....

Kris.

Re: Audi R8

Nice color!, I just saw one in this color (or similar) in the workshop with the CF treatment, and looks great.
For the "Blade" (The name Audi gave to this panel) I think Aluminum would make a good contrast with that gorgeous color.

Keep up posted...

Re: Audi R8

with the darker color the aluminum would look good, but then you can never go wrong with carbon either. It's looking great!!

Re: Audi R8

AAAAAAAA, it hurts! This car is sooo beautiful, just like your model! The color is perfect, so do the rims, and I advise you to go with the silver sideblade as that matches this exterior color! Can't wait to see it finished, just as to get mine delivered and get my hands on it!

Have you decided the interior color yet? Audi offers a brown/black interior, that might be nice with the exterior, if you need pics, pm me!

Re: Audi R8

These days I worked on the r8's

First I had to decide if I'll use carbon or BMF on the sideblade. After a while I decided to add BMF on it and I'm very happy with the result. It's great with this colour

But I also wanted some striping or something on the sides. Some striping decals came with the wheels and I added them on both sides which looks great in my eyes.

After that I clearcoated the body 3 times.

I also wanted to change the 4 small round exhaust-tips for 2 bigger ovall tips.
I made them from alu tube.

and a dryfit

Don't think the rearbumper was'nt ready before painting... I think it's a reflection from something.... btw the bumper is smooth

I also carbonized the enginebay and enginecover for this r8. This time I used CrazyModeller carbondecals.

Re: Audi R8

Engine bay looks fantastic and I love the work on the exhausts. Really liking the colour choice and how the bmf contrasts it nicely. Can't wait to see more of this.

Re: Audi R8

Exhaust-tips and colour are looking great! Very clean paint. I only dislike your wheel choice, or maybe it is just the chrome on them.

Re: Audi R8

I also did a lot on this R8

First the engine. I also placed the firewall into the enginebay.

Completed chassis

completed body.

Here's a list of what I've done.

- grille placed
- bumperfaces (front, back and sides)
- mirrors needed some BMF
- front and taillights placed
- numberplates placed (aluminium)
- black trim around all windows
- wipers placed
- brakinglight placed
- fuellcap placed

Dryfit of all completed parts

Now I'm ready to start on the interior. It will be mainly blue with grey and aluminium details. Floor will be flocked in silvergrey or blue.

Kris.

Re: Audi R8

She is beautiful! I'm doing the same as building two at the same time: one white, one deep blue, 50% ready at the moment. Wish you good luck on the interior!

Re: Audi R8

That color is the perfect color for that car and the wheels look awsome on it. Even though the original wheels are too small for the car, they would look the best on it if you could give them a larger diameter. Nice work.

Re: Audi R8

Great work! Really realistic, the weels fit perfectly on the R8 and the Project Kahn exhausts too! I'm looking forward to the interior! Keep up the good work.
