Re: The Debut...

Not all superchargers are created equal. The roots type is for bottom end power. The centrifugal is more like a turbo and makes its power in the upper end.

I can see a 650hp track machine, but trying to navigate a city in rushhour would be asking for trouble i'd think.

My goal was to get my Cobalt to 250whp and then supercharge it.
The Civic should be Supered. It really doesn't have much difference, except that the Super is going to give better exhaust flow and lower RPM application. Remember, he starts to get his VTech in the higher ranges, so he needs some way to get there fast. Besides, in typical street races it's acceleration that wins the day; not topspeed.
I can't speak for everyone, but mine will be a daily driver....well, as far as being driven everyday when I am on home time as I'm on the road 4-5 wks at a time. 500+ rwhp in NOT that hard to control if you know how to respect it. And having a high horsepower turbo car is a godsend, meaning its not like a 500+ N/A car where you have instantaneous response(The gen 1 Vipers come to mind where nailing the gas with the wheels pointed at anything greater than straight ahead results in swapping ends)

In a turbo car, you've got to build boost, so you pretty much have already made the commitment and should be ready for the power/torque onslought.
Also, the 951's aren't anything like the older 930's(991 Turbo's) and the 'surprise at 3000 rpm's' that have many unexperienced divers getting into boost mid-turn and leaving the roadway. These cars are far more linear in the turbp power delivery.
